Budget Buys | E.L.F. Blending Eye Brush

Recently my makeup brush collection has grown quite a bit. For Christmas my best friend actually gifted me a brush set from Sephora which had tons of new brushes I've been playing with and trying out these past few weeks. One brush I just keep reaching for even over my most high end brushes is the E.L.F. Blending Eye Brush

I really thought this brush deserves an honourable mention because not many people really give E.L.F. Brushes a try. When I was first beginning to dabble into makeup, I only owned E.L.F. Brushes. They are incredibly affordable ranging from a dollar to three which is just crazy cheap. There's brushes on the market now that are over $100 so to find a brand that makes affordable ones is very rare.

The Blending Eye Brush is different from most blending brushes. The bristles are shorter and more dome shaped which allows you to blend shadows in without fully sweeping the colour off. I usually like to blend out my harsh shadows with a neutral tone so I always use this brush, dab on a bit of product and blend blend blend. It always helps me define my colours better and blends out any harsh lines in my eye look. I even recently picked up a second one of these to use clean just for lighter handed blending.

As you're usually blending in the outer eye area, you want to make sure that your brush isn't too harsh in that sensitive region. These bristles are soft and don't ever scratch my lid. In the winter months my eyes need more attention because they tear up easier and this brush lets me do my makeup gently without causing any irritation. I've also seen a few reviews that mention the shedding on this brush and personally, I have not seen any fall out. The bristles are still all in tact and I've had it for about half a year now. I believe maybe E.L.F. upped their formulations and I've noticed their brush stability has increased. Overall, for a buck I think this brush is just absolutely amazing. It's a staple in my everyday routine and since I find myself picking this one up instead of higher end brushes I really think it's one to compete. For such a low price tag, I think ya'll should give it a shot.

  7. This has reminded me that I really need to expand my makeup brush collection. I was given a Body Shop foundation brush at Christmas and had forgotten how nice it can be to update brushes. I really need a blending eye brush as I'm tired of having to find other methods of blending haha, I'll look into this one! :)

  8. I'm impressed! I have a few Elf Studio Brushes and really like them but only have one from the normal range and it's not as good. This one seems to be great and as you say for a buck it deserves a try! xx

  19. I like Elf brushes, they are great for the price. Between Elf and Real Technique, I find myself hardly using my MAC brushes and only using the cheap ones, lol. I don't have this blending brush, mainly because i hardly wear eyeshadow, but as I'm trying to up my eyeshadow game I might have to go pick this up :)

  23. I really enjoy e.l.f. brushes from the studio line, but this one sounds really nice. I haven't placed an e.l.f. order for a while, I think I might pick up a brush or two!

  28. I've never given Elf brushes a try because I didn't like the few makeup bits that I've tried, but I will definitely pick this up! I agree, beauty products are so expensive so it's nice to find a cheap gem :)

  36. Another great drugstore brand for brushes is Sonia Kashuk! It's better than some highend ones as it doesn't shed and applies product beautifully! Will definitely try out an Elf Brush now, I'm trying not to spend an arm and a leg on brushes from Sephora.

  37. ELF is a great brand. Probably the best drugstore brand ever, because it's so cheap. However with their brushes, I prefer the studio line. The essential line is just meh, but that's just me.
