Origins High Potency Night-A-Mins Cream

Night creams, day creams, mid afternoon creams; these days it feels like there's a cream for every hour of the day that's meant to work some kind of miracle for some kind of problem area that suddenly exists. I will openly admit to hopping on the bandwagon when people talk about the benefits of creams. I however, should also mention I really don't like creams. I'm not a big fan of lotions and their interesting textures. They just usually are so heavy and sticky and it makes me incredibly uncomfortable rubbing some kind of white glob into my skin. This post really doesn't seem like it's PG13 right now but my point is I don't really understand creams.

I did however, pick up one from Origins recently just to attempt to get into this craze and I have to admit I am really upset I wasted my money on this product. The Origins High Potency Night-A-Mins Cream is a highly fragrant moisturiser that is meant to "put dullness to rest" with "relaxing aromas that lull you to sleep".  It contains Vitamin C and E which are both great for healing and combating damage on the skin. I just really wasn't impressed with this product. I thought the texture was incredibly thick and hard to properly massage into the skin. The scent was horrific and I'm not usually picky when it comes to fragrances. It was meant to give off a citrus-like aroma similar to Origins' other products however, this one smelled like the worst kind of sunscreen mixed with a hint of Orange that came off more artificial than refreshing. It also is meant to cater towards dry to combination skin however, it irritated my skin and would come off in a patchy texture the more I rubbed it in. It almost just rolled off my skin and after using it just three nights, I had a horrid breakout on my chin and cheeks. I didn't notice that it made my skin any more bright or radiant and it simply washed me out some more. It's just not a product I would personally recommend.

Other reviews have really enjoyed this product so it may just be my skin that reacts horribly to the ingredients however, I don't think the scent is worth putting up with especially if you're picky with fragrances. Origins High Potency Night-A-Mins Cream was a disappointment at a $40 price tag that is simply not worth the investment.

  1. So glad to read his lots of people seem to rave about it but I've never really been sure, my skins pretty sensitive and doesn't get on very well with fragranced products so I'm definetly giving this one a miss x

  6. I've heard a lot of great things about Origins, but I've also heard it's full of parabens and perfume. Horrible when you spend a lot of money on a product and it doesn't work out. Good luck finding something that works for you. :)
