Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer

Recently I picked this product up on a whim mostly because I had found that I didn't own a specific concealer for under the eyes. The Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer seemed to be a drugstore bargain and I thought I might as well try this little guy out. To start off, the packaging is compact and it's one of those twist pen brush thingymabobs. I don't actually use the brush end to blend out the concealer but it does help with not having to get your hands dirty to actually get to the product. Since I go in with my Real Techniques Brush to blend this color out I have no issue with the pen like structure. I got mine in the color 01 Ivory and I have to say that I'm pleasantly surprised with this product.

I have been noticing more and more that my dark circles are just getting worse, being a college student and working and just the whole mess of Christmas in the shops got me to realise I basically can't leave the house without some kind of under eye concealer to not scare everyone away. This concealer has a light formula that I would say isn't too liquidy but also definitely not waxy or hard to blend, I think it's a solid in between. Now, the words highlighting and lumination really tend to scare me off most of the time because I do have oily skin especially on my cheeks and under eye area and therefore drawing attention to that area with something that is meant to luminate kinda freaked me out. I think this concealer really just covers up the dark circles perfectly without being too matte or causing some glow to appear on my oily regions. It is really easy to blend out and when you're having one of those days where you just need a ton of concealer to fix an eye look, it doesn't tend to get cakey which is an absolute plus. I don't have to layer it, usually one round over my foundation will do and it doesn't crease which is just perfect. I will say that I don't tend to reach for this to conceal acne or imperfections on my skin because I love my Mac Studio Fix Concealer for that. However, if you were to put this over acne scarring or any blemishes it doesn't draw more attention to the area like many highlighting concealers do. It does just conceal the blemish and although the coverage is medium, people with limited skin problems can easily use this as an all around concealer.

Overall, if you're searching for an affordable under eye concealer that isn't too illuminating for oily skin and has the benefits of easy application, simple blending and not much fuss then I would recommend picking up this little guy. It's really a bargain for around €6 and for a drugstore brand it definitely gets the job done.

Have any of you tried out this product? Also, what do you guys think about my new picture quality? Are you liking the set up of pictures? I have to admit I felt incredibly clever using a Dream Catcher as a prop for a Dream Lumi Concealer - haha get it? I'm personally really happy about it but I would love to hear your opinions in the comments down bellow!

Happy Weekend.
