The Christmas Tag

Christmas is right around the corner so I thought to get myself and maybe you guys a little more into the festive spirit, I would do this little tag. It's the Christmas Tag! I actually saw this on Alexandra's blog, one of my new favourites, and got super excited. So let's get started!

1. What is your favourite Christmas song?
I do really like Christmas music, I honestly find myself humming jingle bells already in September but my all time favourite would have to be a tie between 'Wir Sagen Euch An' and 'Santa Baby'. The first one is a German song that is the first song sung each time you light a candle on each of the four Advent Sundays in the month of December. I really love this song because it probably comes with the most memories, my family back in Cali and I would really try to sing advent most years and it was just a really important time where we all kind of gathered about and sang together. As for Santa Baby, I just think it's so catchy and funny and I do really enjoy singing, although I'm not too good but that is definitely a song you can hear me belting out in the comfort of my room during Christmas Time.

2. What is your favourite festive drink?
I'm a pretty big coffee lover, I usually can't go without a cup most days and well, I also do work in a coffeeshop so most times I'm having a big lovely cup of coffee. Come Winter time however, I am constantly craving hot coco, I don't know what it is but something about that warm chocolately welcoming mug of yumminess just feels right in the winter time. So my favourite festive drink is definitely hot coco, add some tiny marshmallows and I'm pretty sure I'd be in heaven. (Totally random but do any of you remember the marshmallow spiders from Halloweentown? I always think about them every time I have hot coco!)

3. Do you have a favourite Christmas film?
Every year one movie I will always try to make time for is Christmas with the Kranks. It's just one of my all time favourites, I think that Tim Allen and Jamie Lee Curtis are just bloody hilarious and the film itself kind of just reminds you that you can't run away from the happiness of Christmas. There's no skipping Christmas and I just have always wanted to live on a street like the one they do, where the entire neighbourhood is jolly and cares about one another and everyone is just feeling the Christmas spirit together. My favourite scene would have to be the spray tan scene, seeing Tim Allen look like an umpa lump just makes my entire month.

4. What is at the top of your Christmas Wish List this year?
I asked for quite a few beauty items this year and my mom and brother did manage to pick me up some amazing presents but at the top of my Christmas Wish List this year would honestly just have to be the wish of a better year next year. This year has been really challenging and long and I feel like it's just not had too many good moments so my ultimate wish would be for an amazing 2014. That includes a year where I finally get to see my family and friends again, it's already nearing a year and a half since I've gotten to hug my mom and I just really wish for a trip to California in February.

5. What is your favourite festive makeup or nail art look?
I really love using soft white shimmery eyeshadows during the winter months, I like the glow it gives and it kind of reminds me of a snow fairy. I really enjoy deep creamy white eyes that just kind of sparkle and ornament the face so that would probably be my go to festive look and favourite.

6. What is your favourite outfit at Christmas time? (LBD? Christmas jumper? Pjs?)
I've never really done the whole ugly Christmas jumper thing and I don't wear Pjs so I'd have to say the little black dress. You can catch me in a little black dress basically all year long, I think it's iconic and sophisticated and slimming so I really love throwing on a fancy little number and getting a little dolled up especially for the holiday season.

7. Would you rather play out in the snow or enjoy it inside with the fire and a cuppa?
I absolutely love snow, being a California girl we never saw snow and it was only in the movies that we got to even slightly experience the wonders of a white Christmas. Last year was my first year seeing snow fall and watching the entire world around me glow with light because of this icey white fluff that was filling every crevice and every hole making it really truly feel like Christmas. This year we still haven't gotten any snow and it makes me so sad because I want to be playing in the snow and going for walks with Sparcky and really enjoying the simplicity of nature. So, I would surely rather go out and play around in the snow then sit by the fire and let all the fun carry on without me.

8. Wrapping presents - love or loathe?
I am probably the worst present wrapper known to mankind, I just suck at it. I feel like I don't have a single girly bone in my body when it comes to wrapping presents and I usually end up fighting with the wrapping paper and either taping the thing up so it looks like a misshapen shoe or just give up and throw the present in a bag and call it a day. I loathe wrapping presents and just suck at it. There's no way of putting it nicely, I suck.

9. What is your favourite Christmassy food?
Is this a trick question? Helloooo, CHRISTMAS COOKIES. Every year my mom or grandma bake loads and loads and loads of cookies and they are probably the most magical tasting things in the entire world. This year I'm really trying to stay away from the temptation but it's just so dang hard? The sugary goodness is just so hard to resist! Christmas cookies are the best and it wouldn't be December without the smell in the air and the treats everywhere.

10. What is your favourite thing about Christmas?
If you would of asked me this anytime while I was growing up my answer would have been simple, the presents. But once you grow up and move away from home and experience a Christmas without your loved ones or the people that make a place a home, you realise how important Christmas really is. It's the only time of year where my family didn't fight and we all went out of our way to get each other presents even in the worst of times where we didn't have very much money. I think my favourite thing about Christmas is the idea of being together, it's going to be a hard day this year because it will be the second Christmas without my family. I just really value the importance of being together and think that it's beautiful when a single day can bring so much happiness and love to a family who may not always be able to show love as well as they'd like.

So that wraps up this lovely little Tag and I hope you guys enjoyed maybe getting to know me a little bit better, maybe it got you into the Christmas spirit some more, and hopefully it motivated you to want to do this Tag yourself! Christmas is really truly the most wonderful time of the year. If you've already done this tag or are going to be doing this tag, be sure to leave the links in the comments down bellow so I can give them a read and learn a little bit more about you guys as well!

I do really wish you all a merry merry Christmas.
