It's that time of year again and everyone has been nagging me to sit down and make a list of things I would like for Christmas. Now, I'm not really big on having other people buy me things, I make my own money and I like being able to buy myself anything I want or need. That being said, rather than getting things I don't actually want for Christmas, I did make a list of things that I wouldn't necessarily go out and purchase myself. They're all kind of things I want but don't want to break the bank over, and I will admit some of them are pricey. I think Christmas is a time for family, I know that sounds cliche and if you would have told me that a year ago I'd laugh and say bullshit, it's all about the presents. Being away from my family for a second year now during the holiday season is just as difficult as it was last year. I feel really bad that I didn't cherish the moments and traditions we had back when I was home. If you're spending time with family this holiday season, take a moment out of your time and appreciate how wonderful the chaos, or christmas carols, or bad cooking really is because you never know what will happen next year. A friend of my brother who I knew fairly well passed away suddenly this last week and it's hit me pretty hard where I've just been thinking of trying to make the best out of every moment. You never know when it'll be the last time you see someone, you never know if this is your last Christmas with someone you care about. I would give anything to be home with my mom and family this season and it scares me to death thinking something could happen to one of them and I'd be thousands of miles away. It's a fourteen hour flight back home and if something happens, those fourteen hours may just be too long. That's terrifying and I wouldn't wish distance away from loved ones on anyone. I know we're all going through things and we all have our own problems, but let those go for even just a few minutes this Christmas and enjoy the time you have with family and friends. Life is far too short to care about anything else.

  1. Such a put together list, very good picks! Mademoiselle is my signature sent, I love the playfulness of it, yet slightly mature than some others! I actually just picked up the real techniques brushes, and will be posting about them today! x

  2. I want a Chanel fragrance as well this year. I don't own many perfumes, but when I smelled coco mademoiselle, I fell in love!
It's definitely my favourite scent (along with Diesel for women, I suggest you smell it if you haven't already)
