Review | NYX Pore Filler

Primers are something that I simply don't feel comfortable going without. I know everyone is a little different when it comes to primers and it's a very love/hate topic in the beauty community. Personally, I use a silicone based primer everyday because they usually promise some kind of blurring properties and promise to fill in my pores. Those are the types of features I personally look for when I'm buying a primer. I also find the promise of longer lasting makeup usually effective and can't really remember the last time I went without first priming my face.

Lately, I've actually picked up quite a few new products and happened upon the NYX Pore Filler in my local drugstore. I've been using the Maybelline Babyskin Primer for quite some time now as it really delivers a lovely silicone base and is also quite affordable. On special occasions or when my skin is looking rough, I always opt for the Porefessional but as it is a bit pricier I try to have a cheaper alternative around for everyday use. The NYX Pore Filler was around $13 which is on the pricier side of drugstore makeup. This product does have a similar texture and goes well on the skin but as for the pore filling promises - it's a dud. My skin feels smoother after application but it really just does nothing for my pores. The squeezee tube packaging is easy enough to manage but I feel like there's very little product actually in the tube. As for promises of a longer lasting look it's a bare minimum that most foundations themselves promise. I'm not saying I won't be using it but compared to the $7 Maybelline Primer, NYX just did not impress. If you're looking for a silicone based primer from the drugstore I wouldn't spend my money on this one.
