Budget Buys | Neutrogena Rapid Clear 2-In-1 Fight & Fade Gel

Skincare is something I have absolutely no problem investing in.  I've come a long way since my angsty teen years where I somehow convinced myself putting on more makeup would just help magically clear up my troubled skin. I've finally wrapped my head around the concept that a clean canvas is far more important than clogging my pores. I've recently mentioned that a few new products have been added to my skincare routine and this one is a nice new addition from the drugstore.

The Neutrogena Rapid Clear 2-in-1 Fight & Fade Gel is your basic spot treatment that contains salicylic acid and is meant to get rid of a pimple fast. I would say it's very comparable to the Murad Acne Spot Fast Fix where it makes similar promises and is just as potent however comes from a drugstore line. Where as Murad has a price tag of about $16, Neutrogena offers the gel like product for only $9, a pretty significant difference in price. What I found very favourable in this product was that it didn't awfully dry out my skin after application. The gel like consistency is very potent and has a slight sting however, visibly reduces the size and swelling of a pimple and helped my skin heal to the point where little to no scarring was left behind. If you're used to break outs, you know acne scarring is horribly hard to avoid and this stuff simply works. It truly does fight the breakout and then with continued use, allows the skin to heal and the scarring to fade. When I'm not fighting a pimple, I like to put this on my scarred cheeks overnight and see a clear difference in the texture of my pores come the morning.

Fighting acne is important but helping the relieved skin heal is another very significant part of your overall skincare journey. I think Neutrogena really came out with a great product that has a lot of strength and power. I really was impressed with this product and reach for it quite often; often enough to definitely recommend it to ya'll to give it a try. If you're browsing the market for a spot treatment that works, for such a low price tag definitely give this one a go!

  1. I really need to start upping my skincare game again. I have no problem investing in skin care like you, but it has to do the job. I think what people get wrong is they think just by using their skin care routine for one day is enough to clear up or change their skin, but it takes hard work and persistence x

  6. I haven't had the best of luck with drug store spot treatments, but my skin is so bad that I've got to try every product under the sun to find what works! So I'll certainly give this one a go - thanks for the recommendation!

  11. I have never heard of this gel before but thanks to your review I will definitely be trying it out! I have always had troubles with unwanted blemishes and use Cliniques gel at the moment but it's so expensive! :( I have tried some drug store brands that are less money but find them less effective but this is definitely worth me trying out x

  12. I've not seen this before, but I'll have to check it out when my current spot zapper is done if I see it!

I find makeup doesn't really make my skin any better or worse now that I'm older, as long as I take it off at night. My issues tend to be in the healing rate, they seem to just stay red for AGES and leave a mark on my skin. Wah!

this looks good, i'm always looking for a cheaper option than my beloved little blue bottle from Origins! My favourite SkinCare product has to be the Liz Earle cleanse and polish!

  16. I'm trying to make a serious switch to a natural / organic skincare, but when it comes to spot treatment and I need a visible result ASAP Neutrogena has good stuff to offer! I also can advise a Burt's Bees blemish treatment, really helpful!
