Winter Date Ideas

(Via: Ukkonooa)
I've always been somewhat of a grinch when it comes to the holidays. I was never one to want to celebrate too much and most of the December month was spent stressing over buying others gifts and budgeting. This year, I'm set on enjoying the holidays and making memories that I can smile about when next year comes around. Whether you're in a relationship or you and your friends are looking for something fun, here's a list of cute and festive holiday date ideas that you should consider trying out this year:

Bake Some Cookies From Scratch & Decorate: The holidays revolve around food so why not make some of your own. Making the dough and licking the bowl is something fun to share together. Plus you can get neat cookie cutters like this one and these. If you're into healthy cooking, Protein Christmas Cookies are the way to go! Here's a recipe to try. Also, stay tuned, Shay and I are going to try to whip up a recipe for you guys that'll be tasty and good for you too!

Go Christmas Light Hunting: I don't know about all of you but here in California we have streets dedicated to putting up the most beautiful Christmas lights each year. Cars travel miles just to drive past during the December month and look at all the neat decorations. Grab your significant other or gather a group of friends and either roll along with your windows down in your car or park somewhere and go for a little walk. It's such a lovely experience and the atmosphere is always sincerely jolly. Everyone is happy and it's really such a treat. Here's the one I like to go to.

Go Cut Down Your Own Christmas Tree: Even though this idea didn't pan out for Shay and I, it still seems so fun and really sweet. What girl doesn't secretly fantasize about their boyfriend being a sexy lumberjack? Look up places where they let you cut down your own tree, throw on some matching flannels and pick out a Christmas Tree! Your man will enjoy being the rough rugged chopper of trees and you"ll get a good kick out of watching him. Here's a list of places to chop down trees in California.

Decorate Your Own Ornaments: Once you have your tree, get creative with decorating! I have always found personalized Christmas ornaments to be my favorite. Being able to look back the next year and remembering buying a really special one from a market or making your own is such a wonderful holiday tradition. Get creative! Go to your nearby craft store and browse the isles for ideas. This Wood Slice decorating idea is absolutely adorable and this photo transfer ornament idea is so special for your Christmas tree.

Plan a Weekend Get Away: I'm a sucker for romantic getaways and always dream about hopping in the car and exploring somewhere new. Plan a weekend getaway to a cabin in the woods. This Airbnb cabin in Big Bear looks so warm and cozy. For a different kind of escape, I've always lusted over the idea of staying in one of these rad treehouses for a weekend. Clearly, I'm constantly daydreaming about Airbnb's but the idea is just so sweet and simple and who doesn't want to get away every once in a while?

So there's a little list of things I want to do this holiday season/winter date ideas. I'll make Shay join in on the romantic festivities and if he isn't game, Dilshika and I will have some girl time. It's honestly important to just have fun and make the best out every situation. What are ya'll doing this December? I'd love to hear some more ideas for neat little dates or trips or just simply what you like to do!
