SkinCare Wishlist

skincare wishlist

Lately I've really been trying to step up my skincare routine. I am a firm believer that one of the most important steps in achieving beautiful makeup looks is having good skin. I struggle with my skin like no other. I'm the type that gets breakouts when I'm nervous, when I'm stressed, when I'm close to my monthly time or just simply when I'm thinking about the possibility of a breakout. I have combination skin where I get super oily in my T-Zone but also incredibly dry at other parts so sometimes finding the perfect products can be rather tricky. My skin basically hates me and the only way to fight this affair is with some top notch skin care products.

One Product I'm dying to try out is the Perricone MD Intensive Pore Minimizer which is basically a toner that's meant to tighten and minimise the size of your pores. I have incredibly enlarged pores so this product sounds perfect for me. Another product that's been looming on my wish list is the Philosophy Purity Made Simple One-Step Facial Cleanser. This is one of those blogger hyped products that I've just seen everywhere lately so I thought I'd give it a go.

The REN Invisible Pores Detox Mask also sounds right up my alley because it's meant to draw out impurities and really smooth out the skin while still targeting those enlarged pores. Another blogger hyped product that seems to work miracles on tons of beauty gals is the La Rosche-Posay Effaclar Duo Acne Treatment. It's all in the name really, this baby is supposed to be an extreme acne treatment that works to reduce acne inflammation and is meant to reduce the number and severity of breakouts with minimal hassle on your skin. I'm a little on the fence about this one because certain acne treatments have made my blemished skin worse however, I'm willing to give it a try.

Lastly, for a moisturiser/serum option I've been eyeing the Tarte Pure Maracuja Oil which is meant to absorb into the skin for firmer, brighter looking skin. I am not a big fan of cream based moisturisers so I'm hoping this oil could be just what I've been looking for.

Skincare is something that can be totally overwhelming. There's so many different toners and cleansers and creams that are meant to do all these different silly things that somehow make your skin look perfect. And ontop of it all, skincare products are usually not cheap so that's why I'd like to open it up to you guys. What products work for you? Have you tried any of the items mentioned above? Could you recommend a specific skincare product for my combination skin? The blogging community is such an amazing group and we're here to help each other so that we don't waste money on expensive items that don't actually work.

So help a girl out, let me know what you think!

  2. I've only ever tried the Effaclar Duo, and totally love it. REN products are usually pretty good as well, so I say give that a try!

  3. Living in a country where you can't find the REN range in any shop is so frustrating! I'm actually thinking of buying them online, which products (if you tried any) would you recommend to a normal to oily skin type person?

  6. I have exactly the same issues with my skin. I would have thought I'd be over it by now that I'm 22! I reaaaaally recommend Effaclar Duo - it's such a saviour and I can't wait to get my hands on the new + version. The REN invisible pores detox mask is great too! My must have products for my combination skin right now is the Merumaya Cleansing Balm, Avene Cleanance Toner, La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo, La Roche Posay Toleriane and Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair with the addition of a few UK drugstore masks that make some great dupes for Clinique and Origins!

  8. Hey, I just found your blog and i really like it and I'll be following it for sure!
Here's my two cents on your wishlist, effecter duo and ren pore detox are fab, definitely give those a go! But I'd say, stay away from the purity cleanser! It has really nasty ingredients, not something I'd want to put on my face :S
