Tarte Be Mattenificent Palette

Recently you may have noticed that I've become quite fond of the Tarte Cosmetics makeup brand and all their beautiful products. They have absolutely gorgeous blushes and when I saw Tarte bring out the Be MATTEnificent Palette, I knew I had to have it. Tarte was also doing a 20% off sale for Valentines Day so, this baby was in my cart as soon as I got the email. I have to admit it's really a lovely palette and I am pleasantly surprised by the quality of these eyeshadows.

Now, I've been on the hunt for pink toned shadows ever since the Urban Decay Naked 3 Launch. I was contemplating picking up a few single shadows from Mac but then I happened upon this beauty. The Be MATTEnificent Palette comes with six matte eyeshadows, two liners, and one of their signature blushes. I was a little worried these wouldn't show up too much on my olive toned complexion but they have lovely pigmentation and do create natural pinky looks. The shadows from left to right are Sand Out from the Crowd which is a gorgeous vanilla highlight shade, Peach for the Stars a cool peach tone, Two Plums Up a dark eggplant, plum shade perfect for a smokey eye, Pink Outside the Box which is a soft baby pink great for the base of your look, Rose to the Occasion my personal favourite because it is a dusty rose mauve shade that really adds a gorgeous natural colour and View from the Taupe which is a cool toned taupe colour that is also super versatile and pretty. The shadows are very easy to use and since they are matte, this palette can be so handy for any type of makeup look. I love how versatile matte shadows are and these blend so beautifully that it just feels effortless.

The two liner shades are Don't Stand Black and Dream in Chocolate which are also very pretty colours. I probably won't be reaching for these too often because they are simple liners but when traveling, the fact that the palette already comes with liner shades makes it super handy and allows on the go touch ups to be a little easier. Lastly, the palette came with a new Tarte blush, Elevated which is such a beautiful dusty pink and I have to admit it is an absolute dream. I have been obsessed with this blush shade because like all of Tarte's signature blushes it is just so wonderfully beautiful and complimenting to the skin. It also appears to be a universally flattering shade so it can really work for anyone.

I really like this palette, it's a play on pinky tones which are super 'in' right now but still has that matte edge which makes it incredibly handy and useful for any makeup look. I love their play on words with the names of the shadows, the pigmentation is really lovely and there is quite a lot of product to work with. The liners and blush just make this palette irresistible and I really enjoy that they did throw in a little more than just normal shadows. Tarte definitely did an amazing job with this palette and I would have to say it's pretty MATTEnificent.

Have you tried any products by Tarte

I know Tarte is not available yet in the UK but I do hear it will be coming soon so for all my UK readers, fingers crossed that this lovely brand will be available to you guys soon!

  11. What a pretty palette! The cool thing about that liner is that you can get the brush wet, mix it with the powder and apply a more wetter eyeliner. I think that that purple would look especially pretty on you.
They're play on words is defiantly cute!
