The Blogger Made Me Buy It Tag

Who are your most influential bloggers?
Who are the ones that you really rely on for reviews & swatches?

There are absolutely tons of blogs that I read and really truly love but the two that stand out the most for me would have to be Gh0stParties and Hello-October. Kate really does it all and shows the most amazing products on her blog, she's kind of like a blogging superhero and she has a lovely youtube channel as well. As for Suzie she adds the perfect mix of lifestyle and beauty on her blog and her fashion sense is just to die for. She too has an amazing youtube channel and if you haven't already had the pleasure of reading these two fantastic blogs then be sure to check them out right away.

Do you buy a product solely as a result from one review from your favourite bloggers, or do you look for more reviews from others?

Usually I just enjoy reading product reviews for the fun of things however, I'm mostly wary because we all have such different skin types and facial structures and such but once I see a product mentioned more than three times I start to get curious. That's when I begin browsing for reviews and kind of weighing the pros and cons of a product. So, I would have to say the latter... I mostly try to read a few reviews before purely taking the plunge and purchasing.

What is your most favourite item that you have ever bought as a consequence of blogs?

I would have to say my favourite product that I bought purely because they were mentioned everywhere on blogs and youtube would have to be my Mac eyeshadows. I really didn't even research them too much, I just purely read that they were amazing and it felt like I wouldn't be a beauty blogger without at least owning one Mac eyeshadow quad and it was probably the best investment I had ever made. The eyeshadows are just absolutely lovely and no other shadows have really compared to my Mac ones since. It did begin a pricey love affair but I wouldn't have it any other way.

What is your least favourite that you have ever bought as a consequence of blogs?

This is actually really tough because I do enjoy most of the products that I've purchased due to blogging hype however, if I really had to choose one it would have to be a Mac lipstick. I purchased my first one which is in the shade Touch and I was deeply disappointed because it was part of the Lustre collection. I didn't actually know enough about Mac lipsticks to understand their different collections and I really wasn't a lipstick wearing girl. I just hated that I spent €18 on a lipstick that didn't even last for two hours and since then, I've definitely learned my lesson and pay more attention to the collection I am paying for.

Name five products that you have bought recently as a result of blogs.

The Maybelline Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze, the Bumble and Bumble Dryspun Finish Spray, the YSL Forever Youth Liberator Serum, a Beauty Blender, and Nars Eye Paint in Mesopotamia

Have you ever given into blogger hype? if so, which hype?

Yes, my Maybelline Colour Tattoo collection seems a little ridiculous to any none beauty loving folk.

Have you ever avoided blogger hype? If so, which hype?

I have really suppressed myself from purchasing the Naked Palette and the Naked 3 Palette because although they are beautiful, I don't think I can justify spending the money. I might have to give into the hype next month regarding the Naked 3 Palette but as for the Naked Palette since I already own the second addition to Urban Decay's popular line, I really think it would be rather silly having to own all three.

Is everything you buy based on blogger reviews or are they some items you buy without checking out a review?

When it comes to high end make up I really do actually depend on reviews and making sure that I'm not about to waste my money. I don't live close to any types of shops that provide high end makeup to test or try out really and therefore I purely have to rely on reviews if I'm dying to own a product. As for drug store makeup, sometimes reviews lead me to try a certain product but I like to just wing it in drug stores and I think if we always rely on everyone else's opinions, we may never find those hidden gems that are super inexpensive but totally worth the buck.

So that's about it, this was actually a really fun tag to do and even though I wasn't tagged by anyone in particular I really felt like jazzing it up a bit and adding a cute little question and answer bit to my blog. I would like to tag a few of you, I'm not entirely sure if some of you have already done this tag but I tag my fellow Californian girl PorcelainShree,  the beautiful and caring Alexandra from The-Astyle, my twitter friend Katie from Katiesworld-ofbeauty, Miss Jamie Lee from Glitter Infatuation and of course all of you! Anyone reading this, you're tagged (:

Be sure to leave any links to tags bellow and let me know what you're answers are to a few of these questions.

  2. I agree about the Naked Palette's, I think it's worth having one but all three is a little excessive in my opinion! I would love to try the YSL foundation too!

  10. What a cool tag! I really loved your answer for number 2, especially how you mentioned how we have different skin types and facial structures. I feel like people forget that we are all different and just because something works for them doesn't mean it will work on somebody else.

So happy you bought/own a Beauty Blender! Can't live without those little things!

I'll def. be getting on this tag soon. Thanks for including me, Stef, and I can't wait to hang out with you when you come back home! <3
