Yesterday was a good day. It was a huge stepping stone towards my future, my freedom. Yesterday I was finally able to get my driver's permit. As I previously mentioned, about two weeks ago I purchased my first car. It's been a bittersweet battle so far mostly because I wasn't actually able to drive it yet. There's been quite a few complications in my life and one of the biggest ones was that I was not able to get my license when everyone else did. After numerous battles with the DMV and countless trips there and back, I can finally say a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. In about a months time I will be taking my behind the wheel test. That's so crazy, it's insane how much having that right to freedom can change someone's entire existence.
When I was living in Europe I was able to be so independent because I never had to ask a single person for help getting somewhere. I was able to just hop on a bus or train and get what I needed done. Living in LA is quite different. Buses are basically this big forbidden omen that everyone fears and asking for rides just makes you feel like a little kid. Driving will change so much and bring on so many new adventures that I hope I'll get to share with ya'll. It's a big turning point and I'm just so excited to move forward and progress on this personal journey of life.
